Welcome to Home Scene Journal – the blog dedicated to good design and styling inspiration to transform your house into a home.
From a young age I’ve had a love and passion for good design. With a Grandfather and Father who were both builders, my upbringing was a very hands-on and practical one. I fell in love with bespoke furniture pieces from watching my Dad build custom designs for his clients and seeing the seed of someones vision on paper be transformed from foundations into a home for a family to grow and create memories together.
Now married to a builder, I’ve had the joy of creating our own first home together and raising our two young boys and providing them the fun to be a part of creating our family home.
There’s something about getting to step behind the scenes, pointing the lens and talking with the makers, creators, designers and homeowners. These are the stories I love to share on The Home Scene blog.
My own personal style is eclectic, with a natural love affair for timber materials, texture and depth, old and new mixed together. Pieces that tell a story, that hold meaning and those that are simply cherished.
From home tours to behind the scenes features with clever creatives here in New Zealand, Australia and around the world, I hope you enjoy stopping by, reading and taking delight in good design.
