Cute and fun were top of Julie Stuart’s wish list when creating a nautical styled boys room for son Harvey.

As the smallest room in the house, Julie wanted a light and airy space that incorporated Harvey’s love of boats and fishing but retained a sense of fun.

When styling the space, Julie drew inspiration from The Viking Boy story book.  Its rich illustrations full of texture, depth and emotion are reflected in the furnishing and accessories adorning Harvey’s room. Neutral walls, duvet and drawers work in contrast to the natural and inky blue tones.

Textures leap from the pages and into Harvey’s room in the choice of lush canopy and bedding; the waffle duvet, quilted blanket and denim pillow cases. With Harvey only aged two, the room needed to have the flexibility to grow with him as his interests change and mature. Interchangeable accessories provide that flexibility throughout the room, including the feature wall created with One Hundred Percent Heart decals.
